■17-month aged Wheat Strong Ale made with plenty of Yamanashi plums and plums
"Off Trail Divine Drops" is a Wheat Strong Ale aged for 17 months in oak barrels, made with 50kg of plums from Kosuge Village, Yamanashi Prefecture, and 150kg of plums from Kikushima Seiyodo East Branch, a plum farm in Fuefuki City, Yamanashi Prefecture.
After harvest, the plums are left to ripen for about a week, turning yellow and developing a sweet, mellow aroma, while the plums are blended with Soldam, which are harvested at the perfect time to coincide with the ripening of the plums. The base beer, aged for 17 months, has characters such as apple, honey, toast, and flowers, and is complemented by the sweet aroma of ripe plums, the acidity of plums, and tannins reminiscent of grape skin. Fermentation also consumes the sugars in the plums and plums, resulting in a dry mouthfeel. The result is a refreshing drink with hints of oak barrels and the character of the plums and plums.

Enjoy the unique character of barrel-aged beer and the unique blending that only happens once in a lifetime. Off Trail is a brand that challenges new possibilities in craft beer. They use microorganisms other than beer yeast to create unique beers with rich and complex flavors through barrel aging, which involves aging beers in wooden barrels. The end result changes depending on the barrel and the environment in which they are aged, so the unique flavor is what makes them so appealing.
Our brewery's barrel room always has around 80 barrel-aged beers stored, and we select and blend the best combination of barrels from these to create our final product.
Some barrels may be too stimulating or unique on their own, but by balancing the beers with other beers and sometimes combining them with fruits, herbs, spices, etc., they can become more substantial and complex, coming together. This latest product, "Off Trail Divine Drops," is a beer aged for 17 months in oak barrels, combining the sweet aroma of ripe plums with the tartness of plums.

[What is Off Trail?]
Launched in November 2019 as a follow-up to the two brands "KAGUA" and "Far Yeast," "Off Trail" is a brand that explores new possibilities in craft beer. Its name evokes the image of venturing off the paved road and forging ahead on unpaved paths. By using the barrel-aging method, which involves aging beer in barrels previously used for wine, sake, and whiskey, Off Trail strives to brew beer that utilizes microorganisms other than brewer's yeast. Barrel-aged base beers develop a strong character due to the environment inside the barrel, and natural chemical reactions create rich, complex aromas. By blending seasonal fruits like grapes and peaches and regional specialties to match the characteristics of the base beer, Off Trail strives to create unique flavors.
