Far Yeast gloam moon / A light-bodied Dark Mild Ale from an outdoor-loving brewer

Far Yeast Brewing will begin selling "Far Yeast gloam moon," the second in its "Outdoor Beer" series, on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

■ "Beer you'll want to drink outdoors" made by an outdoor-loving brewer
Far Yeast Brewing is located in the naturally rich village of Kosuge in Yamanashi Prefecture, at the source of the Tama River. Many of the brewers who work in this mountainous area love outdoor activities such as camping, mountain climbing, and more, and wanted to create beers that could be enjoyed in their own favorite places. This is why we started the "Outdoor Beer" series last year.
The first product, "noon moon," released in June 2023, was based on the concept of "enjoying the daytime in the open air of nature." It is a light American pale ale style that harmonizes with the mountain air and aroma, and has been well received at campsites, cafes and restaurants in popular hiking areas, and outdoor-related tourist areas.
■ Dark Mild Ale: Light-bodied at 3.5%, yet with a rich malt aroma.
The second in the "Outdoor Beer" series is based on the concept of "relaxing in the evening by a bonfire." The beer style is a traditional Dark Mild Ale, originating in the UK. With a light body and malt aromas of caramel, nuts, and chocolate, this beer has a refreshing 3.5% alcohol content, making it perfect for relaxing and enjoying outdoor activities. It's the perfect complement to the ultimate chill time, spent relaxing surrounded by the sounds of a bonfire and the aroma of charcoal fire.
Looking up, the moon floats in the gloam of twilight as darkness gradually sets in. This is the scene I imagined, and it was named "gloam moon."
■ Gratitude and encouragement for the abundant nature and water of the Tama River source
Following on from last year's "noon moon," for "gloam moon" we collaborated with the "BACK TO RIVER" project, which focuses on environmental conservation in Hinohara Village, Tokyo, which, like us, is located at the source of the Tama River system (Akigawa River). The project aims to see people not just "play" in the river, but also "play, learn, and protect" it.
The "BACK TO RIVER" project was launched as part of the "Thanks Hinohara Project" in response to a plan to build an industrial waste incinerator in Hinohara Village, the village that is the source of water in the innermost part of Tokyo. The project is now expanding its scope of activities to include headwater areas all over Japan.
In support of the initiative to protect the important rivers that are essential to beer brewing, and to encourage people to pay attention to the water that is the foundation of their lives, we will be promoting a portion of this product under the spin-off project's original label, "BACK TO RIVER."

[About the BACK TO RIVER Project]
The "BACK TO RIVER" project was launched in response to a plan to build an industrial waste incinerator in Hinohara Village, the source of Tokyo's deepest river. The project has now expanded its scope to include river headwaters all over Japan.
We believe that playing in nature is an important time, and we are thinking about how we can continue to enjoy and protect rivers in the future. We are not just "playing," but are working to ensure that people "play, learn, and protect."
