Launch of climbing training board "Nobocon Board"
Far Yeast Brewing has collaborated with Heroes Up! Climbing Club , which provides sport climbing lessons, and Kosuge Tsukuruza , a digital fabrication company , to release the Nobocon Board, a climbing training board primarily targeted at intermediate climbers.
To commemorate the release, a special set of beer and training board will be available for sale on our online store from Wednesday, July 15th.
Far Yeast Brewing has previously supported the climbing competition "Nobocon" held by Heroes Up! and the "Beer Session" competition held at Fish and Bird, a climbing gym in Koto Ward, Tokyo, connecting climbers with craft beer. Due to the impact of the coronavirus, we are unable to hold the craft beer and climbing event this year, but we will continue to support the event by planning training boards.
Traditional training boards tend to be aimed at advanced climbers, so beginner and intermediate climbers aiming to become more advanced have had limited tools to train at home. Furthermore, with fewer opportunities to train at gyms or on rock faces due to the impact of COVID-19, there is a growing need for boards that allow for serious training at home.
The Nobocon Board was designed and produced in line with the purpose of the climbing competition Nobocon. Nobocon is a competition for people who have become addicted to climbing as adults, and Nobocon Board is targeted at people who are working hard at climbing every day while struggling with work, family, time constraints, and physical limitations.
The production utilized the digital fabrication technology of Kosuge Tsukuruza, a company based in Kosuge Village, a neighborhood of ours, and was supervised by the design of Hiroki Ota, CEO of Heroes Up!
